Jenn's Bump

Today we had a little brunch in honor of Jenn and her bump, Ainsley. Aren't they adorable?! She's almost here! The party was great. Kandy cooked up some fantastic food and my mom ordered this killer cake. So we were set. Oh, and you guys left that shrimp salad. Brandon inhaled it as soon as we walked in the door. *Sorry, Shawn!*

Obviously, she peed.

Naked baby + sheepskin rug = Pee. If anybody knows how to clean a sheep, let me know.

And in other Abby messes this week, she found her favorite food: sweet potatoes and apples.

Jason and Kara's Wedding

This weekend we traveled up to San Antonio for Uncle Jason and Kara's wedding. Aunt Kara, actually, which Will reminds me to throw in if I forget. :)
We left Abby with Nana. She apparently decided to give them a run for their money. We're expecting a new tooth now anytime. Well, Mr. Man actually loved the car ride for the most part, seeing it as alone time with his parents, a rarity these days. We stopped at Bucky's for lunch and made our way over to Lisa's to see her amazing house (more to come of that another day). My boys were in the wedding and looking sharp. Will even made it through without any incidents. Stephen, however, decided to steal the show with a whopper of a juicy fart right in the quiet of the ceremony. This thing was loud and long. And you should have seen Amy spring into action. I will never forget it as long as I live. In fact, I have tears rolling down my face right now just thinking about it. She was out the door with a kid under each arm before the fart was over.
Later, we head outside to take pictures. They came out nice, but the kids were getting a little wild and Will ran his head into an iron gate. It brought up a huge goose egg and panic attack on my part. It's kind of nasty, but his big hair covers it for the most part. We managed to escape an ER visit, but did have to leave early to let him rest, medicate, and recover on the way home.
When he saw me looking at the pics on the camera he saw one of Britten sitting by a gate. He said, "I want to see." and I showed him. He said, "No, I want to see the gate that I messed up." He was disappointed that I didn't take pictures of his injury and the 'aftermath' of what happened to that gate for messing with my boy.
This morning we're talking babies. I said, "you know, when the baby comes out of Aunt Kara's tummy it's going to be your cousin. Do you think it will be a boy or a girl?"
"A boy"
"What do you think they should name him?"
"Bunny Cupitt Amy. That's a great idea"
Indeed. Consider it, you guys.

PawPaw's Birthday

Last week was PawPaw's Birthday and Will helped me make some cookies for him. Red velvet cookies with two kinds of icing. He totally washed his hands. No worries.

And here's another cute one of PawPaw with Abby at Britten's Birthday Party

Mr. Imagination

Will has been all about creative play lately. Here's a little bite of what went down this afternoon. If you're confused and think you missed something, you didn't.

*water running*

Me: Will?!

W: Nothing!

Me: No. Not nothing. Why is the water running?

W: The guys like to take a bath.

Me: What guys?

W: The little green guys. On my hands. They are little but I am big.

*starts draining the sink*

W: Oh, no!

Me: Are they ok?

W: Yeah, they're just going downstairs to play trains.

That kind of thing is round the clock. Yesterday he walked around in a shirt (only) "fixing" things with a screwdriver. The desk, the exersaucer, whatever. It was all broken.

This week the weather got nice for a few days so we started Will's garden. Here it is. It's growing grass out of its head right now. And then Will cuts it everyday.

Growing and Regressing.

Let me preface this slew of posts with this tidbit: I'm not editing these at all. I'm not a photographer today, just a mommy!
Abby is getting bigger and cuter everyday. We love that. She's found her feet and holds them all them time. She coos and squeels and blows rasberries. The cuter she gets the more it ticks off Will. Here's a peek at what regression looks like. It's weird, I'm not gonna lie.
And here's what he's up against:

Catching Up!

OK, I'm long overdue on all the blog stuff. So I'm just going to do a bunch of random posts.
So let's get started! This is what's going on in my world. Cooking. Chopping stuff alot. This is tonight's dinner. I can never remember the name of this dish. It has something to do with salsa verde. Anyway it's crazy good. I think so. The boys don't seem that enthused about it. Probably because it makes so much that we have to eat it for a week. Rachel Ray never steers me wrong like Martha did, though.

The 4 Month Check-Up

Well, Little Miss is 4 months old now and this is what that looks like. Her height and weight stats improved over the last two month. Though her head reamains perfectly average (yay), her weight is in the 75th percentile and her height in the 90th. I don't really know what all that means except that she's really tall. I also chickened out on getting her ears pierced and opted to wait until her next appointment when I had backup. I'm excited though. The little gold studs are adorable!

Will's got moves

This is just what comes out when he's gotta dance.

Jen's latest pics

Jen took these little gems at the loft last week. My super fave of the both of them is not here. It's going to be your Valentine's Day card!

Labeled.

Sorry I've been a negligent blogger lately. I'll give you the scoop on what's happening in our lives this week.

Brandon: work. and laundry! he's been helping me with laundry! he's so nice.

Will: rediscovering toys. i rearranged furniture and swapped out some of his toys last week. so he's found them all over again.

Abby: she can blow rasberries now. yep. quite an accomplishment. and apparently will has informed her that screaming randomly will get her noticed. she's into that now too. not so much crying or anything like that. just random shreaks.

Me: well, i'm into labeling stuff. i got a labeler and i'm getting all organized. my favorite label is the label that labels the labeler drawer. :) i'm also into cooking regular old mommy food. i haven't gotten into that much, but you can just call me betty crocker. i can make beef stroganoff that tastes just like the box....

That's What It's All About

There are definately days when I feel like I got the short end of the stick as far as working. Staying at home is a thankless and never ending job. You've heard the many complaints from me, you, or maybe your wife. So I'll skip that right now. Right now I'm glad to be a stay at home mommy. It's freezing out and nasty. But my housework is done (enough). My clients are taken care of (enough). The kids are sleeping (for another 10 minutes). And I've just made a new pot of coffee. Even slipped a little irish cream in there. Being your own boss is pretty sweet sometimes.

Any Resolutions? Come on....

You know you have some. I'm outing mine.

  1. I'm going to try and make better resolutions.

  2. Kick the frosting habit

  3. Follow through on my craft obsession. It's time that I stop staring at crafts and make something already. On my radar are: stockings, tree skirts, aprons, onesies, sleeping bags, quilts. Quite ambitious. I might start easy with a kitchen towel.

  4. Go on, or at least book, a REAL vacation. With kids. Without kids. Whatever. But preferably somewhere far and different. On my radar: http://www.costaricatreehouse.com/ and http://www.skyruncondos.com/keystone/component/option,com_hotproperty/task,view/id,5/Itemid,2/

  5. organize my clients in a way that makes sense.

  6. Start a Bible Study for Strung-Out Mommies. I am not the only one who has put Bible study on the backburner until kindergarden. Free childcare is great, but I have SO many friends who can't leave their kids in childcare for some reason or another. I am of this breed. Sometimes you just have to bring the kids. My thoughts are, we are MOMS for crying out loud. Our kids aren't welcome in Bible Study so we can FOCUS?! That's absurd. We specialize in doing a million things at once. We're going to try it.

  7. Hold off on "letting myself go" for another year at least. It was beginning to look a little hopeless, but it seems that I can fairly easily run a mile now. Which is the start of getting my body back. Which is the start of a non-spandex outfit. What matches spandex? Ponytails. You get the idea. So anyway, the mile is big. I'm making a comeback. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8nfGQ0FVooU - Suave style.

We'll revisit these in a little while and see how it's all going shall we.

Full of Surprises

Will's favorite thing to do right now is play computer games. He likes to go to the Playhouse Disney website and just boss me around for fun. He points and demands and I move the mouse around. "Go there. Not there. Handy Manny. I don't want Handy Manny!" Great stuff. Anyway, it's not my favorite thing to do at all, but it's so much fun for him that we do it a little every day as a treat. So yesterday we're playing on the computer and he actually says, "Mom, I'm freezin' in here (it's 70 degrees). Can you make me a chai latte?"

Sidenote on chai: This request alone is hilarious in and of itself. For those of you that don't know what a chai latte is, don't stress. It's not hard coffee or anything. It's a little bit of tea, a lot of sugar, and a lot of milk. More like a hot chocolate. And Amy had these great little packs of it that she brought ME out of her Christmas stash. And Will just has good taste and a wicked sweet tooth. So we wrestle for them. Anyway...

Back to the latte. So I tell him I'll be right back and go make his latte. While I'm in the kitchen I hear the computer talking. He wanted to play Bunnytown next and what do I hear?... "Bunnytown. Click here to play Bunnytown Ice Cream Parlor. Welcome to the Ice Cream parlor..."

Yeah, he can totally work a mouse. And somewhat read. Enough to completely do a computer game by himself and I have NO idea! So I bust him with the camera. That silly face he made was authentic. He knew he'd been caught! So, anyway, now he can do it by himself. Soon he'll be setting up his own blog. That'll be interesting.
In the end, I still play the games for him or at least right beside him. I think that was more fun than the game itself. But it was just funny.

Abby's Frog

This one's for Grandma! You hit the nail on the head with this one. She LOVES this frog more than anything right now. She spends most of her waking moments whacking, yelling at, and smiling at this frog. Now she's even wearing her frog prince onesie and kicking those little thigh as hard as she can to make it wiggle. Speaking of thighs, don't you just want to pinch them?! Aren't those about the cutest thighs ever?!

The Christmas Bomb

It still looks like a Christmas Bomb went off in this house. Trash doesn't come until tomorrow, so we still have about 8 giant bags of wrapping paper hanging around. The dishes are almost done! I'm on my last load now. And I've begun taking all the decorations down. There are still toys everywhere. In the middle of the night last night as I'm quietly getting up to feed Abby, I accidentally trip over a drag racer which then starts all on it's own. I'm chasing it around in the dark as it's loudly zipping through the living room and under the couch. Good stuff The energy in the house yesterday can only be described by a sound. You know that hum of a flourescent lightbulb? Or maybe the sound that a bug makes when it gets stuck on the zapper? That was what it felt like around here. Will played with all of his toys in the most efficient way possible - two at a time. He would lay on the sleeping bag and play with a toy or sit in the middle of the train tracks while watching a new movie. And he just looked like he had some kind of sugar hangover. He just stared and sometimes drooled. I think he's almost detoxed today.
Abby is enjoying some real conversation with the hens on her exersaucer. She's so misunderstood. Gracie is being harassed ALL DAY by a cheeky imaginary squirrel.
And finally, one of our Wise Guys is recovering from a frontal lobotomy. It's pretty serious, but that being said, he actually looks and feels better than the donkey.

A Striking Resemblence.

This is Criddle's last day at our place before he heads back North. He's been a fun little elf and we'll look forward to seeing him next Thanksgiving. But he definately reminds me of someone...

Discovery Green

We went downtown to The Ice at Discovery Green on Sunday. I thought it was going to be fun, but I had no idea it was going to be that fun! Everything was just fun and gorgeous to look at. It was just a really great place to be with the kids. Anne and her friend, Jordan, had alot of fun ice skating. Mom did too! Brandon sort of dragged Will around the ring a few times. There was an awesome park and it was so fun to ride the trolly and just walk around. So much to see and do. It was one of those magic kind of days that really made you feel all Christmas-y.
